AlGooru acquires ChillLearn

Saudi Arabian online tutoring platform AlGooru has acquired ChillLearn, a Jeddah-based tutoring platform, to unlock new depth in the student-tutor online platform and to expand its operations across the region.

AlGooru was founded in 2019 by Khalid Abou Kassem, got accepted into the seed accelerator, Techstars Riyadh and raised a Pre-Seed funding round worth $600K in November 2021. To date, AlGooru recruits more than 450 vetted private tutors, covering more than 210 academic and non-academic teaching subjects.

“We plan to capitalize on ChillLearn’s market insights, access to supply, and know-hows to better cater to the needs of the 10M student market in Saudi. This will anchor our foreseeable expansion in the region, which will align with our mission to build GCC’s one-stop private tutoring shop.”

~  Khalid Abou Kassem, founder of AlGooru

ChillLearn is a web application that provides an environment to allow both students and tutors to meet live on the website for their tutoring sessions. ChillLearn served over 5,000 students and landed a win at the TechChampions Accelerator by the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).

“AlGooru and ChillLearn have a common mission. Their combined enthusiasm and synergy can yield previously inconceivable solutions to the online student-tutor platforms.”

~ Muhanad AlJaser, founder of ChillLearn

AlGooru’s mission is to easily match-make students and tutors, creating a community of dedicated professionals and enthusiastic learners to benefit from shared experiences. AlGooru and ChillLearn have crossed paths to innovatively create solutions where they are required most, in the field of complementary education.
